ZERO-TALENT THE HOME OF WHERE IT'S AT Greetings to the inquisitive and the terminally bored. My name is Dean Baker. I am an outstandingly talented and extremely modest writer. Welcome to a talentless zone. As the name of the site suggests, I have ZER0TALENT !! But pardoxically, I have somehow managed to become a published author. My debut novel, Where it's at, has been graciously published by Publishamerica and is due for general release on Jan 1st 2005 at all reputable (and not so reputable) bookstores. My short fiction is of impeccable quality and samples can be found by following the short fiction link on this page. SO WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT? W here It’s At is a quirky, humorous story. It details the trials and tribulations of a young man in what is possibly the best and worst year of his life. It encompasses painful illness, heartbreak, an impending nervous breakdown, madcap hi-jinks in the United States, fully automatic weapons, and potential insanity. The hero struggles to come to terms with the breakup of his relationship, a dull life and a depressing job, and embarks on a holiday of a lifetime in America. With his two best friends, the group tears through three of America's most adventurous states facing down desperate episodes and potential disasters. Through this fast-paced, no-holds-barred adventure, the hero gains new perspective on his situation and comes to question his long-held beliefs and ideals before reappraising his own existence.
